Chattanooga's Young Swimming Stars: CASL's 66th Annual Bill Caulkins City Meet (2026)

The Chattanooga Area Swim League (CASL) is a testament to the power of community and the joy of swimming. This year, the 66th Annual Bill Caulkins City Swim Meet brought together thousands of young swimmers from across the Chattanooga area, showcasing their talent and dedication. It's a summer tradition that not only fosters athletic excellence but also builds camaraderie and a sense of belonging among the participants.

What makes CASL truly special is its inclusive nature. With 14-15 community teams, it provides a platform for swimmers of all ages and abilities to compete and excel. From the Red Bank and Cleveland teams to those in Signal Mountain, Dalton, Fort Oglethorpe, and Calhoun, CASL unites a diverse range of swimmers under one banner.

The Ooltewah Tidal Waves, a standout team within CASL, have dominated the City Meet for the past six years. Their success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of both the swimmers and their coaches. Philipp Davydotchkin, the head coach of the Ooltewah Tidal Waves, emphasizes the team's collective effort, stating, 'It's all due to the kids. They’re the reason that we’re undefeated.'

Declan Harris, a young member of the Ooltewah Tidal Waves, embodies the spirit of the league. He says, 'This is the funnest thing ever.' His enthusiasm is infectious, reflecting the joy that swimming brings to the team.

The City Meet is more than just a competition; it's a celebration of the swimmers' achievements. It's a culmination of their hard work and a chance to showcase their skills. The event is a testament to the league's commitment to providing a supportive and rewarding environment for its swimmers.

CASL's annual City Meet is a highlight of the summer, bringing together swimmers from across the region. It's a reminder of the importance of community and the joy that can be found in sports. As the league continues to thrive, it will undoubtedly produce more talented swimmers and foster a sense of pride and camaraderie among its participants.
